Books finished recently

Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paolini. Can't wait to see the film and read the 3rd book. Awesome read from a young author.

The Gladiators by G J Whyte-Melville. Set in AD 65-70 it follows the story of a young Briton slave and a young Jewish lass in Rome and then in Jerusalem as Titus conquered it. Some very interesting historical stuff while a gripping read at the same time.

Safely Home by Randy Alcorn. Fantastic story of the persecuted church in China. Also exposes the forced labour prison camps (Laogai) used to make Christams tree lights amongst other things. For more research on Laogai check out EPM.

Into a Dark Realm by Raymond Feist. The next book in the series - this guy writes books like you eat hot dinners!

Meditation

The Lord woke me up early today and provided me with great encouragement and nourishment from His word this morning.
I read from the book Safely Home by Randy Alcorn where numerous passages from John were quoted and I read and understood them for perhaps the first time. I wonder how many times I will say that again!

Meditating, I wondered "What is my future?” What is it that I am called to do and be here in this earth? I am a warrior – sent forth from God – for a mission. I do not yet know what that mission is, but I won’t be told until I am ready. Therefore I must get ready – girding up my loins in truth, sharpening my sword and living righteously. The mission will come when I am ready, and when my family is ready.
