Baby Talk

I just had the most awesome conversation with my baby - well she's not my baby more; "I not baby I 'cedes". 4 year old Mercedes just climbed onto my knee and proceeded to talk to me and tell me a while bunch of stuff, some of which I understood clearly and other stuff I am still confused about but it doesn't mater.I enjoy listening and she enjoys talking. But my baby is growing up...

Tag - you're it

After dinner the kids enticed me to come outside. The wife suggested that it would be a good idea if I saw the outside world, so I cautiously poked my head out the door. Fortunately the poisonous UV rays of twilight did not strike me with instant blindness, burning skin or even a faint sense of nausea. Soon I discovered that the dog is still alive (and remembers me), the grass has been mowed (by somone else) and the air smells different when it isn't pumped through an aircon.
Next thing I know 3 girls and I are involved in a mad game of Tag, you're it. I am sure the neighbours (whose house unfortunately hasn't drifted away with tectonic plate movements while I have been locked inside) thought that wild Indians were coming to scalp them.

Weekend Birthday Party

The weekend was mostly spent I not working - the theme to the weekend. Apart from one short appointment that was supposed to happen on Saturday (and ended up being postponed to Monday) I barely touched a computer for work!

Mercedes turned 4 on Saturday so that was lots of fun. We had presents early (as usual) and then I spent a lot of time playing with her, helping her draw and colour in with her new coloured pencils and markers, paying with her new ball (from Grandad and Grandma) and lots of other fun things.

Australia Day 2008 BBQ

Its tomorrow - one day to go. A BBQ lunch or dinner sounds fantastic.

Had to agree with Doug that his quote from Sam Kekovithc  pretty much sums up the day. From the commercial Buy Lamb for Australia Day Sam says it nicely:  Whack on the BBQ, invite everyone over — if you can’t pronounce their name, just call them “mate” –; and celebrate living in the best bloody country on Earth.

I hope to do just that.
